And in winter there are also giant waves. Today the North Shore was having 25-35 foot waves so we (along with Jessica and family) went to take a look. We stopped at Turtle Beach to watch them. You had to stand at the road because the actual beach was closed. They were really big but pretty choppy, pictures just don't capture them the way they are in person. Further down the coast towards Waiamea Bay and Sunset Beach they are usually bigger but traffic was so bad we didn't make it that far. It was still nice though, I could just sit and watch them for hours.
This is me, enjoying being windblown in my new Georgia t-shirt (thanks Tonya!)

After Turtle Beach we stopped at Haleiwa Beach Park and the kids were able to get out and play for a few minutes.
Aidan and Collin had a great time throwing sticks into the water.

And Rachel and Caleb played in the sand.

Of course I had to get a family picture :)
